Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Profession: Nursing Specialty: Staff Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum six months to three years of nursing experience License: Current RN License Certifications: BLS Certification, ACLS, ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate preferred Must-Have: Chemo administration experience highly preferred Description: The Registered Nurse (RN) protects, promotes, and optimizes health and abilities. The RN is responsible for the prevention of illness and injury, and the alleviation of suffering through the diagnosis and treatment of human response. The RN advocates in the care of individuals and families. The RN is accountable for compliance with all standards of practice and professional development. This is in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act, policies, Scope and Standards of Practice, Code of Ethics for Nurses, and the Bill of Patient Rights. The RN promotes a caring and healing environment for patient-centered care. The RN assesses, plans, delegates, coordinates, implements, and evaluates nursing care for a group of patients. The RN serves as a primary nurse and/or accountable nurse when designated by unit assignment. Consideration of factors related to safety, effectiveness, competency, cost, and impact is essential. The RN educates patients and families in health promotion and disease management using available resources. The RN utilizes a working knowledge of pharmacology to safely administer medications according to established policies. The RN shares in the responsibility for productivity and effective resource utilization, including staffing and time management. The RN complies with all nursing practice standards and regulatory requirements. Active participation in Nursing Shared Governance is encouraged. This includes supporting councils, participating in improvement initiatives, and contributing to peer review practices. The RN engages in professional development and completes mandatory education requirements. Integration of nursing research and current evidence into practice is essential. The RN provides a supportive learning environment for new employees and students. Other duties may be assigned as needed.
