Imagine owning a bank of injection molding machines where your decisions directly impact quality, uptime, and customer satisfaction—every single run.Impact you’ll makeKeep presses running reliably by watching trends, preventing downtime, and optimizing cycle efficiency.Lead complete changeovers: install and align molds, connect utilities, and validate mold protection parameters.Control processes to spec and record parameters precisely using Master Setup Sheets.Tune temperatures, pressures, transfer positions, cycle times, and material drying for consistent parts.Jump on alarms, operator concerns, and process upsets—then correct course quickly.Eliminate defects—short shots, flash, burns, splay, warpage—through structured troubleshooting and corrective action.Cut scrap and nonconformance with targeted improvements and mold maintenance coordination.Verify parts through first-article and in-process checks using calipers, gauges, and other instruments.Help drive external and internal PPM down through disciplined execution.Ensure all guards, interlocks, drop bars, and safety switches are active and effective.Model safe behavior: PPE, OSHA compliance, Lockout/Tagout, hazardous material handling, and safe lifting.Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, cranes, and other handling equipment when certified and authorized.Partner with maintenance to identify issues early and resolve them quickly.Confirm materials: identity, lot tracking, drying specs, and correct virgin/regrind handling.Keep records impeccable—setup sheets, process logs, downtime/scrap reporting, and ERP entries.Join setup reduction efforts to lift throughput, uptime, and OEE.Uphold 5S and a tidy, safe, organized workspace.Share updates across shifts and flag process changes to supervisors and teammates.Train and mentor others on processing standards, quality expectations, and safety.Advance continuous improvement in safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and cost.Take on related tasks as assigned.What you bringHigh School Diploma or GED.Experience succeeding in a fast-moving manufacturing environment with a strong safety mindset.Comfort juggling multiple priorities while following written work instructions precisely.Ability to pass written and hands-on testing for hi-lo (forklift) operation; prior forklift experience and adherence to all forklift safety rules.2–3 years or more of practical plastic injection molding, including mold changeovers.Deep understanding of thermoplastics, mold setup, tooling safety, and processing practices.Read and interpret blueprints, setup sheets, and technical documentation.Strong mechanical aptitude with proven troubleshooting ability.Flexibility to work overtime and shift schedules including nights and weekends.Standout extras5+ years in plastics manufacturing doing similar work.Familiarity with IATF-oriented production and quality controls.Experience training colleagues.Contributions to safety and continuous improvement projects.Background in scientific molding approaches such as RJG and Decoupled Molding.Work settingLift up to 50 pounds; frequent standing, stooping, twisting, climbing, and repetitive motions (8–12 hours).Frequent forward/downward bending at the waist (≥45°) and reaching to floor level.Operate near hot molds, presses, cranes, and in confined areas.Frequent grasping/handling with hands and fingers; reaching above head and at/below shoulder.Use ramps/stairs; discern speech and alarms; moderate industrial noise common.Close vision (≤20 inches) and color identification required.Role is primarily hands-on (about 60–80%) with some desk/computer time.Temperatures may reach 90°F; expect both hot and cold conditions.Work independently with limited oversight; may remain stationary 50%–100% of the time depending on task.Mount/dismount forklifts and standing lifts; access trailers, steps, and ladders; comfortable with heights.Frequent exposure to moving machinery, fumes, vibration, and potential electrical shock; work at high, precarious locations.RewardsCompetitive hourly pay reflecting your expertise.Comprehensive benefits; free medical/HSA for employees earning under $75,000 annually who elect individual coverage.401(k) to support your long-term plans.Generous PTO and paid company holidays.Weekly uniform service at no cost.Annual boot allowance for qualifying safety toe footwear.Broad exposure to molds and tooling challenges that accelerate your growth.AccessibilityThe requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
