Contract | Night Shift | 12-Hour Shifts | Every Other Weekend Required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in an 18-bed emergency department (including 4 critical/trauma rooms) serving an average of 70 patients per day at a Level III Trauma, STEMI, and Stroke Receiving facility
• Manage a patient assignment of 1:3–4 depending on acuity, including ER holds intermixed within the department
• Perform and interpret EKGs independently; read and interpret cardiac monitor strips without monitor tech support
• Administer and monitor common ER drips including pressors and sedation; troubleshoot respiratory equipment (nasal cannula through ventilators) in coordination with on-site Respiratory Therapy
• Staff triage and Fast Track areas as needed; may occasionally be asked to precept per unit need
• Care for a diverse patient population including pediatrics, cardiac (STEMIs), stroke, trauma, and general ER presentations

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license valid for the state of practice
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Room nursing experience
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications required
• Must pass the Advanced Dysrhythmia exam (minimum score 83%) prior to contract start; up to three attempts permitted
• Candidates must not have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any facility within the CommonSpirit/CHI/Dignity Health system within the past year; candidates employed PRN through outside staffing firms may be considered

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with pediatric emergency patients
• Familiarity with STEMI and stroke protocols
• Comfort managing ventilated patients and interpreting cardiac rhythms independently
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
