Overview Undergraduate Nursing Clinical Adjunct Instructor – Indianapolis, IN 46227 Posted: 06/25/2025 | Deadline: Open until filled | Employment: Faculty | Pay: Depends upon skills and experience | Department: School of Nursing Experience: Intermediate Responsibilities Adhere to the University of Indianapolis and School of Nursing policies, procedures, and rules as outlined in the School of Nursing Student Handbook and Faculty Handbook. Attend required undergraduate nursing clinical adjunct orientation before the start of each semester working at the University of Indianapolis. Attend required clinical agency orientation, if applicable. Attend workshops on D2L (Brightspace) learning management system, if applicable. Instruct and evaluate nursing students in the laboratory, simulation, and/or clinical settings. Supervise and maintain equipment and lab space, if teaching in the Clinical Learning Center. Actively engage with nursing students throughout the instructional period e.g., asking questions, providing guidance on where to find answers, coaching on skills, etc. Communicate professionally and often with course faculty, assigned students, and clinical personnel (include preceptors). Grade and provide meaningful feedback on clinical paperwork according to rubrics, if applicable. Grade and provide meaningful feedback according to rubrics on assigned lab/simulation assignments or skills validations, if applicable. Evaluate student learning and performance using a standard evaluation tool provided by the School of Nursing (may occur each clinical day, at midterm, and/or at final). Participate in end-of-course program reports and evaluations with the course lead faculty. Follow the guidance and direction of course lead faculty and/or supervisor(s). Demonstrate respectful, ethical, responsible behavior. Demonstrate regular and predictable attendance and punctuality. Other duties, including special projects or didactic/lecture teaching as assigned. Qualifications Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree is required; Master’s in Nursing or higher degree is preferred. Experience: At least eighteen (18) months of experience as an RN; evidence of expertise in relevant teaching areas (fundamental nursing skills, pediatrics, obstetrics, psychiatric, geriatric, critical care, and/or medical-surgical); ability to meet health requirements for clinical settings; prior college or university teaching experience is preferred. Pediatric and/or psychiatric nursing practice specialty is preferred for the academic year 2025-2026. Licenses/Certifications/Credentials: Criminal history and background check clearance; clear drug screen upon hire; evidence of current American Heart Association CPR training; current unencumbered and valid RN license in the state of Indiana; RN compact license (ONLY required if providing instruction in the Accelerated BSN-Distance program); TB test results and vaccination documentation may be required depending on instruction setting. Supervisory We strive to have 8 nursing students or less in a clinical group. The maximum number of nursing students in a clinical group is 10.
