Title: IBM DataStage Developer
Location: Chicago, IL
Type: Sub-contract
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced IBM DataStage ETL Developer with 8+ years of hands-on experience designing, developing, and supporting enterprise data integration solutions. The ideal candidate understands business requirements and mapping documents, translating them into scalable end-to-end ETL applications using IBM DataStage, with strong SDLC knowledge and a proven track record of delivering high-quality data solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop DataStage jobs to extract, transform, validate, and load data from Oracle databases, flat files, CSV, text, Excel, and external systems
- Write complex SQL queries for data extraction, validation, reconciliation, and performance optimization
- Build JSON files using DataStage Hierarchical Stages
- Implement robust data quality checks - structural, data type, and business rule validations
- Troubleshoot ETL failures, address L1/L2 escalations, conduct root cause analysis, and implement preventive measures
- Use Unix shell scripting, Control-M scheduling, ServiceNow, JIRA/ADO, and Confluence for automation, monitoring, incident management, and documentation
- Collaborate with SMEs, Business Analysts, Architects, and Development teams to deliver reliable, compliant, efficient data integration solutions
- Drive operational excellence through automation and continuous improvement
