Job Description\n American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Labor and Delivery for a travel nursing job in Seattle, Washington.Job Description & Requirements\n \n Specialty: Labor and Delivery\n Discipline: RN\n Start Date: 10/19/2026\n Duration: 26 weeks\n 48 hours per week\n Shift: 12 hours, nights\n Employment Type: Travel\n \n Assignment Overview\n \n Shift: Nights, 4x12hrs\n Hours: 48 hrs/wk\n Start Date: Oct 19, 2026\n Length: 26 weeks\n Openings: 1\n Description\n American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a high-risk, high-volume Labor & Delivery unit, requiring a WA or compact RN license and prior high-acuity L&D experience.Details\n \n Labor and Delivery unit on night shift, 4x12 hours from 19:00 to 7:30\n High-risk, high-volume L&D unit with 4 ORs and 31 beds/rooms\n Average daily census of 15 patients with 500-600 deliveries per month\n Patient population includes midwifery clients, private OB patients, adult recovery services for substance recovery, and community care clinic patients\n Utilizes Epic EMR and electronic fetal monitoring\n Float required to Postpartum/Antepartum units and to sister facilities providing Mother/Baby care\n Schedule posted every 6 weeks based on unit needs\n Requires working every other weekend and holidays as needed\n Requirements\n \n Active WA or compact RN license required\n BLS and NRP certifications required; ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, and AWHONN Intermediate preferred\n Minimum 3 years of experience in a high-acuity, fast-paced L&D environment required\n Epic EMR charting experience required\n 1:1-2 patient ratio experience\n Skilled in labor and delivery management, including amnioinfusion, high-risk and vaginal deliveries, C-section circulation, forceps/vacuum extraction, and hemorrhage/shock management\n Experience administering medications such as Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, Insulin drips, anticoagulation therapy, and antihypertensives\n Competent in neonatal care during delivery, including APGAR scoring, newborn resuscitation, cord sample collection, and thermoregulation\n Skilled in postpartum care, including couplet care, hemorrhage management, fundus/lochia/perineum care, and lactation support\n Experience with pain management modalities including epidural anesthesia, nitrous oxide, and opioid administration\n Proficient in fetal monitoring and recognition of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns\n Two supervisory references covering 1 year of experience within the last 3 years required\n Additional Information\n \n Functions as Baby Nurse during delivery, providing continued newborn care including eye care, Vitamin K injections, and thigh assessments until transfer to postpartum\n Serves as Circulator for C-section deliveries as a core function of the role\n Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)\n First-time travelers are welcome to apply\n Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate within a 50-mile radius\n Former permanent staff may return as travelers after a minimum 3-month separation, provided they reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility\n Direct contact with facility staff outside of scheduled interviews is not permitted\n Providers are expected to float between sister facilities as needed within the health system\n \n \n American Traveler Job ID #P-758890.
