Organizational Development and Change Management Consultant

Position overview The Organizational Development and Change Management Consultant supports the Division of University Human Resources (UHR) Learning and Development. This senior, internal consulting role structures and implements organizational development and change management strategies, facilitates stakeholder engagement, and partners across functions to ensure successful adoption of new systems, processes, and ways of working. The role focuses on aligning people, processes, and technology to enhance organizational effectiveness and long-term capabilities, with an initial emphasis on the implementation of a new Unified Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. Responsibilities ERP Transition & Change Management Lead change management efforts related to ERP implementation, including stakeholder engagement and adoption strategies. Develop and execute change management plans aligned with ERP project milestones. Conduct change impact analyses and organizational readiness assessments. Collaborate with the UGA ERP Change Management team and functional workstreams to align change and communication strategies. Support development of change networks, champions, or ambassador programs across the institution. Design reinforcement strategies to sustain adoption post-implementation. Organizational Development Conduct assessments to identify organizational effectiveness gaps, behaviors, readiness, and opportunities for improvement. Develop comprehensive organizational development plans aligned with institutional and HR strategy. Design and implement organizational effectiveness programs that support employee development and organizational growth. Facilitate workshops and sessions focused on organizational effectiveness, team performance, and change readiness. Collaboration Collaborate with multiple University HR departments and business units to align initiatives. Oversee UGA Team Development Service Request intake and delivery process. Partner with the Learning & Development team to ensure training supports behavior change and ERP adoption (beyond knowledge transfer). Serve as a consultant to campus leaders and stakeholders to navigate organizational change. Assessment & Continuous Improvement Collect and analyze stakeholder feedback to evaluate readiness and effectiveness; refine programs based on needs and best practices. Track progress of organizational effectiveness and change initiatives and report outcomes to leadership. Research and apply best practices in organizational development and change management. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience and 5 years of professional experience. Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree in HR, Organizational Development, Business, or related field. 5+ years of experience in organizational development, change management, or talent development. 2+ years of experience leading large-scale system implementations. Certification in Change Management (e.g., Prosci) and/or Organizational Development. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to guide groups through complex discussions, decision-making, and collaborative problem-solving. Ability to utilize data and translate insights into actions. Knowledge of change management frameworks (e.g., Prosci, Kotter). Familiarity with learning strategies and workforce development. Understanding of organizational assessment and diagnosis. Ability to collaborate across various business units. Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to convey complex concepts. Ability to facilitate and lead trainings. Ability to navigate ambiguity and organizational complexity. Work context : This is a full-time, on-site position based in Athens, Georgia.
