RFFA Organizer- Philadelphia

Location and Timeline: We are hiring full-time Field Organizers to begin by September 26 and continue through Election Day, including post-election debrief days. The locations are Philadelphia, PA This will expand over the program, so if you live further away or are willing to relocate to Philadelphia, PA for the campaign, please still apply! Relocation is available for qualified full-time applicants.

Who We Are: Vote Blue is a field firm specializing in face-to-face canvassing operations. At Vote Blue, we mobilize voters to get to the polls. Our field campaigns have provided the margin of victory in close elections at the local, state, and national levels. Trump and Republicans at all levels of government are stomping on our rights, making everything unaffordable so a few billionaires can get even richer, and dismantling the very fabric of our nation. Vote Blue's sole focus is on mobilizing and engaging voters to participate in the elections this fall and fight back at the ballot box.

General Overview:
We are currently seeking Field Organizers to join us on an important and exciting campaign to build and lead the canvass teams talking to voters in Philadelphia, PA and encouraging them to Vote Blue in the upcoming November elections. We are hiring for multiple organizer positions in multiple cities throughout the state.

Voter Contact: Help us turn out Democrats in Pennsylvania to get out the vote and win! Pennsylvania played a pivotal role in the last election, and we know it will again this year. By supporting Democrats, we have the chance to make a significant impact. Join us as we work to win this election!

Field Organizers are responsible for building and leading a canvass team that talks with voters face to face and encourages them to Vote Blue in November. You'll start by recruiting and training your team, then lead daily voter contact shifts, coach canvassers and team leads, and drive turnout through Election Day. You'll also have your own door-knocking goals, with at least four of your own canvass shifts each week. As your team grows, they'll be out on the doors with you.

What You'll Do:

Recruit, Train, and Lead a Canvass Team

• Recruit canvassers through calls, texts, and in-field recruitment in the community and on local campuses.
• Run canvass trainings on voter conversations, messaging, and safety practices.
• Coach canvassers in the field and develop team leads.
• Keep meticulous track of your roster and shift schedule so no canvasser falls through the cracks.
• Build relationships with community leaders and partner organizations to support recruitment and turnout.

Drive Voter Contact

• Knock doors on at least 3 of your own shifts each week and hit personal voter contact goals.
• Plan turf and shifts backwards from daily and weekly door and contact goals.
• Talk with voters about what's at stake this election, [including reproductive rights,] and encourage them to Vote Blue.

Organize Get-Out-the-Vote Actions

• Plan and run canvass launches and GOTV weekends.
• Nail 100% of all messaging and legal requirements and ensure that your team does the same.

Manage Data and Reporting

• Use Google Suite, VAN, peer-to-peer texting, and relational organizing tools.
• Track everything: doors knocked, contacts made, shifts completed, and canvasser attendance.
• Report numbers daily and write weekly reports on campaign results.

Requirements:

• Based in or willing to relocate to Philadelphia, PA for the duration of the campaign.
• Available to work 40–60 hours per week, including evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays, from September through Election Day.
• This role requires regular driving. All staff who drive must be approved based on their driving record, which requires a valid driver's license, car insurance, and no motor vehicle moving violations in the past 3 years. We prefer candidates with reliable access to their own vehicle, but a rental can be provided if needed.
• Previous organizing experience is a plus but not required. We welcome entry-level candidates who have demonstrated leadership, strong interpersonal skills, and a track record of reliability through work, volunteer, academic, or community experience.

Nice-to-Haves, but Not Required:

• Organizing or canvassing experience in or around Philadelphia, PA.
• Experience on electoral, nonprofit, or issue campaigns.
• Experience managing or coaching a team.
• Experience with campaign tools such as VAN, ThruText, Action Network, or EveryAction.
• Event or project planning and management.
• Experience working on reproductive rights or health care access.

Salary, Benefits and Perks:
The salary for this position is $1,058-$1,231 for full-time. Pay within this range is set through an equity calculator, and salaries are not negotiable. We believe this approach is more transparent and helps us achieve pay equity. We offer a $50 monthly cell phone stipend and a generous benefits package, including paid vacation and sick leave, health insurance, and hands-on training. At the end of the campaign, there may be opportunities for advancement and bonuses.
