HSE Safety Specialist

Job Summary Responsible for coordinating and supporting HSE related efforts for field operations to ensure compliance with internal and external requirements and achieve operational and company business objectives. Responsibilities Provide on‑site health and safety support and assist in coaching staff. Ensure daily focus on H&S requirements, collaborate on goals, and participate in H&S meetings. Assist in creating and communicating new Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) programs and standards. Identify and report potential improvements, support field training, and assist during regulatory meetings. Track field safety data, support compliance reviews and inspections, and ensure required protective equipment is available. Assist in incident investigations, coordinate injury case management, and support corrective actions. Share key safety lessons with the team, assist with risk management and recommend controls for high‑risk tasks. Conduct field inspections, prepare for high‑risk tasks, promote best practices, and report safety improvements. Support contractor safety, help with vendor qualification, participate in safety meetings, and assist with Drug and Alcohol testing programs. Perform additional duties as assigned. Values differences and diverse perspectives. Required Qualifications High School Diploma (or GED). Minimum of two (2) years of E&P or related H&S experience. Valid driver’s license with an acceptable MVR. Availability to work Monday through Friday and participate in an on‑call weekend rotation as needed. Ability to pass a respiratory fit test, if applicable to route/location. Acceptable pre‑employment background and drug test. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. H&S Certification (CSP, CIH, CHMM, OHST, or a related discipline). Strong knowledge of production, completions, and drilling. Physical Requirements Ability to stoop, stand, walk, pull, and carry instruments, and climb stairs and ladders for an extended period of time. Ability to lift and carry up to 30lbs. without assistance. Capable of driving distances of 150 miles or more per day during all types of weather conditions. Ability to one‑arm carry up to 25lbs. without assistance. Regular bending, crouching, pulling, and kneeling to check equipment and gauges. Must be able to exert up to 40lbs. of force occasionally and up to 20lbs. frequently to move or manipulate objects. Ability to work significant amounts of time as required to complete job responsibilities. Working environment includes exposure to extremely loud noises in the field, hazardous chemicals, and hydrocarbons that may be under extreme pressure for which appropriate safety measures are required. Ability to inspect and have close visual acuity to perform activities. Ability to work outside in adverse weather conditions for extended periods of time safely. Work safely with machinery and equipment.
