Telemetry RN in Pollock, LA

Take on a key nursing role in a dynamic Tele unit, providing care for a diverse patient population including myocardial infarction (MI), congestive heart failure (CHF), arrhythmias, peripheral vascular disease (PVD), and select medical-surgical overflow cases. This full-time contract opportunity offers immediate start dates for two openings on the 7PM - 7AM night shift, with a possible pathway to a permanent position.


Schedule:

• Night shift: 7PM - 7AM
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call obligations
• Floating to other units required as needed

Qualifications:

• Active RN license in the state of employment or compact state
• BLS and ACLS certifications from AHA are required
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
• At least one year of experience in a similar specialty is preferred
• Experience caring for cardiac and medical-surgical patients is highly valued
• New hires must complete New Nurses Orientation within 30 days of employment

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver safe, routine, and complex care in accordance with established nursing standards
• Provide assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients utilizing the nursing process
• Administer medications and cardiac drips (nitrates excluded) following department protocols; monitor patient responses closely
• Document all aspects of patient care, medication administration, and history
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers as needed, and identify relevant resources or issues
• Delegate and assign tasks appropriately to manage fluctuating unit needs and nurse-to-patient ratios of 5:1, occasionally 6:1
• Meet all annual and role-specific competency requirements
