Job Description

Singing River Health System is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Gynecologic Oncologist to join our established and growing oncology program serving the Mississippi Gulf Coast. This physician will provide comprehensive gynecologic oncology care in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment focused on delivering exceptional patient-centered care.

This opportunity offers flexibility to fit different career goals. It is an outstanding semi-retirement opportunity for an experienced Gynecologic Oncologist seeking an excellent work-life balance while continuing to make a meaningful impact on patients and the community. The position offers a Monday through Thursday schedule with Fridays and weekends off.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for women’s health, minimally invasive surgical techniques, and collaborative cancer care. Physicians will benefit from access to tertiary referral centers in New Orleans, Louisiana; Jackson, Mississippi; and Mobile, Alabama, while maintaining a strong local presence and continuity of care for patients.

The Singing River Cancer Center is accredited by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer and provides comprehensive cancer care across multiple locations including Pascagoula, Ocean Springs, and Gulfport.

Position Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and treat gynecologic malignancies including ovarian, uterine, cervical, vulvar, and vaginal cancers
  • Perform complex gynecologic oncology surgeries utilizing minimally invasive and robotic-assisted techniques
  • Collaborate closely with Medical Oncology, Radiation Oncology, Pathology, Radiology, and Women’s Health providers
  • Participate in multidisciplinary tumor boards and treatment planning
  • Participate in weekly tumor boards with the Ochsner Gynecologic Oncology team every Wednesday morning at 7:30 AM
  • Provide inpatient and outpatient gynecologic oncology consultations and follow-up care
  • Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment options, and survivorship care
  • Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical program development
Qualifications
  • MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Gynecologic Oncology
  • Completion of an accredited OB/GYN residency and Gynecologic Oncology fellowship
  • Eligible for an unrestricted Mississippi medical license
  • Strong communication and collaborative skills
  • Commitment to high-quality, compassionate patient care

The Singing River Cancer Center provides comprehensive treatment for women’s cancers including cervical, ovarian, uterine, vulvar, and vaginal cancers. The program emphasizes coordinated, multidisciplinary care with advanced diagnostics, surgical oncology, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and survivorship services.
