Title
Registered Nurse - Labor & Delivery

Requirements
- License: Compact license
- Certifications: BLS, NRP required; ACLS, AWHONN preferred
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year required
- EMR: Epic required
- Unit-specific Skills: Labor & delivery nursing, postpartum hemorrhage management, neonatal assessment and care, external and internal fetal monitoring, induction and augmentation of labor, administration of OB medications, breastfeeding support, and sterile vaginal exams

Schedule
- Self-scheduling
- Weekends required; numbers may increase to meet department needs

Assignment Details
- Patient Ratio: 1:2
- Daily census: 2-3 patients
- Orientation: 40 hours
- Guaranteed hours: Facility may call off once per two-week pay period

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive care for laboring mothers and newborns.
- Assist in vaginal and C-section deliveries and manage postpartum care.
- Monitor fetal heart rate patterns and administer necessary medications.
- Support breastfeeding and provide newborn care, including phototherapy and management of newborn hypoglycemia.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to ensure quality healthcare delivery.

Compliance / Notes
- Background policy: No acceptance of Nursys or BG hits.
- Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day.
- Must disclose any prior work at similar facilities during submission.
- Approved time off must be requested during submission.
