Outpatient Physical Therapist Assistant

Job Description

The Outpatient Physical Therapist Assistant plays a vital role in delivering superior quality physical therapy services in alignment with the core values of Select Medical. This role emphasizes patient and employee safety, implementing treatment plans as established by the Physical Therapist while promoting a safe and effective treatment environment.

Responsibilities

• Implement treatment goals, plans, and programs established by the Physical Therapist.
• Assist in carrying out therapeutic interventions including posture training, strengthening exercises, endurance training, and more.
• Train patients in locomotion using orthotics, prosthetics, and assistive devices.
• Demonstrate the use of various therapeutic modalities and ensure patient safety during treatments.
• Monitor patient response and adjust treatments when necessary.
• Document patient progress and participate in interdisciplinary team meetings.
• Maintain a safe treatment environment and comply with infection control guidelines.
• Foster professional relationships with patients, families, and healthcare staff.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• A degree in Physical Therapist Assisting from an accredited school.
• CAPTE Certified with an active state license.
• 1+ year of outpatient clinical experience.
• CPR Certification.

Schedule

This is a 5x8.0 shift, starting on September 8, 2026.
