Legal Assistant

Answer incoming phone calls promptly and professionally, directing them to the appropriate team member or taking accurate, concise messages. Greet and assist clients, visitors, and vendors in a courteous and professional manner. Maintain confidentiality in all client and case matters. 2. Communication & Information Relay Efficiently and clearly relay important information from clients, courts, and opposing counsel to attorneys and support staff. Monitor and respond to voicemail, email, and other communications in a timely manner. Schedule and confirm appointments and meetings. 3. Document Preparation & Filing Draft basic correspondence, forms, and cover letters under attorney direction. Prepare, proofread, and format legal documents under attorney direction. File documents in person with the County Clerk, JP Courts, County Courts and District Courts. 4. Case File Management Maintain organized, up‑to‑date case files in both electronic and physical formats. Track and calendar important deadlines. Assist with assembling trial notebooks, deposition binders, and exhibits. 5. Administrative Support Perform data entry, scanning, copying, and mailing as needed. Assess and maintain office supplies. Assist in preparing meeting rooms and common areas for client conferences, mediations, and depositions. 6. Professional Standards Maintain a respectful, courteous, clean and quiet work environment. Demonstrate professionalism in interactions with colleagues, clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel. Follow all firm policies and procedures to ensure efficiency and quality service.
