About the Role Materials Planner at our Plano, Texas headquarters. You will serve as a Subject Matter Expert responsible for distributing production schedules or purchase orders to departments. You will revise production schedules when required due to design changes, labor or material shortages, backlogs, or other interruptions while collaborating with management, marketing, sales, production, or engineering. Analyze sales data to determine future product demand based on projects, product changes and consumer behavior trends. Arrange delivery, assembly, or distribution of supplies or parts to expedite flow of materials while adhering to production deadlines. Develop demand forecasts at multiple levels of aggregation for multiple time horizons as part of the demand planning function. Review historical sales trends, research demand drivers, prepare forecast data, develop statistical forecast models, and evaluate forecast results. Coordinate cross‑functional research activities to reconcile significant variances and refine the forecast model. Interact with sales, marketing, and customer finance to understand demand forecast drivers. Use and maintain the Demand Planning software as the primary forecasting system tool. Provide input to the Supply Planning organization in developing inventory strategies on existing items, new products, and product phase‑outs. Coordinate and communicate customer action plans with supply planning. Other job duties as required. Position Qualifications Competencies: knowledge, skills, and abilities. Critical Thinking – using logic to evaluate solutions. Judgment and Decision Making – considering costs and benefits to choose the best action. Reading Comprehension – understanding written documents. Management of Financial Resources – determining and accounting for spending. Abilities Information Ordering – arranging items according to rules. Written Comprehension – reading and understanding written information. Problem Sensitivity – recognizing when something might go wrong. Near Vision – seeing details close range. Oral Comprehension – listening and understanding spoken information. Education High School Diploma or equivalent required. BA or advanced degree strongly preferred. Experience Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in planning or supply chain management. Sales, inventory, and operations planning experience. Computer Skills Technical and business knowledge to include financial modeling and analysis using Microsoft Excel; proficiency with other Microsoft Office applications such as Word and PowerPoint. Prior experience with ERP environments and planning in database tools required. Syteline ERP experience – huge plus. Other Requirements Goal‑oriented and able to prioritize consistently in a changing environment. Excellent analytical, negotiation, organization and presentation skills. Strong interpersonal and communication skills; experience presenting key data to senior management, board members, committees, or partners. Physical Demands Constant mental and/or visual attention; work is repetitive or diversified requiring alertness in an office environment.
