Job Description

The Night Semiconductor Technician works in a critically controlled semiconductor cleanroom environment, inspecting, cleaning, refurbishing, testing, and packaging metal parts and assemblies received from high‑tech manufacturing customers. This role focuses on restoring semiconductor equipment components to precise standards and preparing them for return shipment, while closely following detailed written procedures and maintaining rigorous safety, quality, and documentation practices.

Responsibilities

• Inspect incoming semiconductor parts and assemblies from high‑tech manufacturing customers to assess condition and required processing.
• Disassemble metal parts and components from semiconductor equipment, preparing them for cleaning and refurbishment.
• Clean, refurbish, and reassemble semiconductor parts and tools according to detailed work instructions and standard operating procedures.
• Serve as a liaison between the lab and the laser safety room, spending approximately 30 minutes per cycle in the laser room to monitor operations, document activities, and clean steel parts installed in semiconductor equipment.
• Process, test, and verify parts and assemblies to ensure they meet quality and performance standards before packaging.
• Test and package customer parts and equipment within a critically controlled cleanroom, ensuring all steps are completed and properly annotated.
• Follow written work instructions, procedures, and safety SOPs meticulously, documenting each step accurately in engineering and operational records.
• Perform assigned tasks in the cleanroom while adhering to required cleanroom garments, PPE, and quality protocols throughout the shift.
• Support inventory management activities to maintain proper stocking levels of parts, materials, and supplies.
• Ensure the work area, equipment, and tools remain clean, organized, and properly maintained at all times.
• Handle chemicals safely as part of cleaning and testing processes, following laboratory and chemical handling guidelines.
• Use tools and equipment to perform mechanical assembly, troubleshooting, and basic electrical or manufacturing process tasks as needed.
• Collaborate with operations and engineering teams, clearly articulating technical information and process updates in both written and verbal form.
• Maintain punctuality and consistent attendance, recognizing that timeliness and attention to detail are crucial to the work environment.
• Participate in initial day‑shift training for 2–5 business days to learn procedures, safety practices, and documentation requirements before transitioning to the night shift.

Essential Skills

• Minimum 3+ months of experience working in a cleanroom environment.
• At least 3+ months of mechanical assembly experience, including cleaning, re‑assembling, and handling semiconductor parts and tools.
• Minimum 3+ months of experience reading schematics or standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Proven ability, through references or education, to write and document clearly using word processing software.
• At least 2+ years of experience working with computers on a weekly basis.
• Consistent tenure of approximately 2+ years on average in previous roles, demonstrating good stability and commitment.
• Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with tools, assemblies, and equipment.
• Very strong documentation and computer skills, including proficiency with Word, ERP systems, and engineering documentation for safety SOPs.
• Ability to clearly articulate information to engineering and operations teams in both written and verbal communication.
• Willingness and ability to work with chemicals, handle tools, and perform lifting throughout the shift.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow complex written procedures in a controlled environment.
• Reliability and punctuality, with the ability to adhere to a compressed night‑shift work schedule.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with chemical handling, laboratory work, and chemical testing in a manufacturing or technical environment.
• Experience in assembly, troubleshooting, mechanical, electrical, or semiconductor manufacturing processes.
• Comfort working in a high‑tech, cleanroom laboratory setting alongside operations and engineering teams.
• Good long‑term employment history, reflecting strong tenure and commitment at previous workplaces.
• Ability to work effectively on both front‑end and back‑end production tasks as required.
• Interest in long‑term growth and development within a stable, family‑oriented business culture where employees tend to stay and often return.
• Adaptability to learn new procedures and technologies during initial training and ongoing operations.

Work Environment

This role is based in a lab and semiconductor manufacturing cleanroom, working closely with operations and engineering teams on high‑tech equipment and parts. The environment is critically controlled, with strict cleanroom protocols, chemical handling procedures, and detailed documentation requirements. Night shift operates on a compressed workweek schedule with 12‑hour shifts from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM, including a 30‑minute lunch and 15‑minute breaks. Front‑end (FE) night shift runs Sunday through Tuesday with every other Wednesday, and back‑end (BE) night shift runs Thursday through Saturday with every other Wednesday. Initial training takes place on day shift for 2–5 business days before transitioning to nights. Additional day shift options (6:00 AM to 6:00 PM) may be available, with candidates indicating their preferred shifts. The dress code requires long pants and personal steel‑toed shoes; all other cleanroom garments and PPE are provided. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chandler, AZ.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
