Traveling Construction Superintendent – Lead Regional Commercial Developments for Scherer Construction

Job Overview:

The Opportunity: You will serve as the primary on-site leader managing ground-up and commercial renovation projects across Florida. This role offers the autonomy to drive scheduling, subcontractor performance, and job site safety while representing a company that heavily invests in long-term career growth. You will directly impact project profitability and client satisfaction by translating complex blueprints into high-quality physical structures.

How You Will Make an Impact:

• Supervise and coordinate all daily on-site construction activities to maintain strict project timelines.
• Control, organize, and motivate diverse teams of subcontractors to deliver high-quality craftsmanship.
• Record and report real-time project progress, material deliveries, and daily logs using Procore software.
• Enforce strict Scherer Construction and OSHA safety standards on site by leading weekly Tool Talks.
• Resolve technical site issues and architectural discrepancies quickly to minimize cost and scheduling delays.
• Coordinate critical building inspections with jurisdictional authorities to secure timely structural approvals.
• Manage proactive communication with Project Managers regarding RFIs, shop drawings, and owner updates.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in the construction industry as a superintendent or field leader.
• High School Diploma or equivalent credential.
• Proven experience utilizing Procore or equivalent construction management software for daily documentation.
• Strong proficiency in reading, interpreting, and laying out architectural plans and technical specifications.
• Flexibility to travel to job sites beyond your immediate area when needed.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience:

• Local residency within the Fort Myers or Naples, Florida geographic market.
• Demonstrated experience managing ground-up commercial retail and industrial builds from layout to punch list.
• Advanced background in building layout, site benchmarks, and dimensional control management.
