You will oversee complex engagements, manage client relationships directly, and review the work of senior and staff accountants. This position requires a strong balance of hands-on technical expertise in tax, audit, and accounting, along with the ability to operate as a front-line leader responsible for quality, execution, and client satisfaction.Serve as the primary client contact across tax, audit, and assurance engagementsReview complex tax returns including corporate, partnership, trust, estate, and LLC filingsProvide technical expertise in tax law, compliance, and planning strategiesUtilize UltraTax (or similar) to review and manage tax engagements at a high levelLead assurance and accounting engagements, applying GAAP and governmental (GASB) standardsOversee client accounting functions and take ownership of ongoing books and financial reportingReview work prepared by senior and staff accountants, ensuring accuracy and quality controlSupervise and mentor team members, supporting development and performanceAct as a front-line leader in managing and growing the firm’s book of businessPartner with leadership to improve processes and support practice growthWhat You’ll BringBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; Master’s in Accountancy or Taxation (MTax) preferredActive CPA license required7+ years of progressive public accounting experience across tax and assurance3+ years in a supervisory or management role, overseeing staff and engagementsProven experience managing complex client engagements across multiple entity types (S corps, C corps, partnerships, trusts, estates)Background in a public accounting firm strongly preferredAdvanced knowledge of tax law, compliance, and planning strategiesStrong expertise in reviewing complex tax returns across entity typesDeep understanding of GAAP, GAAS, and governmental accounting (GASB/GAGAS)Proficiency with tax and audit technologies (e.g., UltraTax, CCH Axcess, ONESOURCE, or similar)Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly ExcelStrong communication and presentation skillsStrategic thinker with sound business judgmentAbility to simplify and convey complex concepts effectivelyTeam leadership and multi-engagement managementClient relationship management and advisory expertisePerformance management with a focus on quality and client satisfactionWhat We OfferMedical, Dental & Vision Insurance (Coverage begins on the first of the month following your start date.)Paid Parental Leave401(k) Matching ProgramPre-Tax Commuter BenefitsPet InsuranceUnlimited Flexible Time Off7 Company‑Paid HolidaysEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)This position is open to candidates working either in-office or fully remote, based on location.Base salary of $130,000 - $160,000 plus discretionary bonus (exact base salary amount will be dependent on experience)Archer Lewis StoryArcher Lewis is a national accounting and advisory firm established in 2024 from local practice mergers, leveraging over 70 years of legacy.
