Cavanaugh Eye Center is seeking a Medical Receptionist (Patient Coordinator) in Overland Park, KS. The position is full-time, with office hours from Monday to Friday, 7:30am to 6pm. Shifts will fall within these hours, with occasional flexibility needed.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED equivalent, a favorable background check, basic computer skills, strong customer service skills, and a willingness to learn and grow.

Essential functions include facilitating patient flow, verifying medical and vision insurances, communicating effectively with patients, doctors, and managers, and answering inquiries through phone, email, and in-person requests.

The Patient Coordinator sets the tone for the patient's visit through excellent patient care and performs administrative responsibilities to create a smooth check-in/out experience.

Qualifications include the ability to interact with all levels of employees in a courteous, professional manner, a desire to gain industry knowledge and training, and the ability to grow, adapt, and accept change.

Education and experience requirements include a high school diploma or GED and one year of related experience or training.

Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook is required. The role involves frequent walking, sitting, and standing, with regular bending, stooping, and reaching. Employees must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull items up to 25 lbs. Strong fine motor skills and full use of hands are essential, as the role demands constant grasping, writing/typing, and use of technology. Visual and auditory acuity is required 100% of the time.
