Registered Veterinary Technician

Silverado Veterinary Hospital is seeking an experienced Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join our team and support both outpatient care and procedural services, including surgery and dentistry. Overview We are looking for a versatile, client-focused technician who thrives in a dynamic general practice environment – balancing exam room care, client communication, and hands‑on procedural support. Responsibilities Support efficient exam room, outpatient, surgical, and dental workflows Perform anesthesia induction, monitoring, and recovery Assist in surgery Perform dental procedures, including prophylaxis and radiography Maintain accurate, detailed medical records and treatment documentation Review treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions with clients clearly and compassionately Identify patient concerns and support efficient case management across the hospital Build strong client relationships through education, communication, and attentive service Schedule and Compensation Compensation: $29–32 per hour, for each hour worked. Full‑time position with a 5/8 schedule. Availability required for 1–2 Saturdays per month and an occasional half‑day on Sundays. Full‑time Benefits Package Bonus package: $2,000 based on active, good‑standing veterinary technician credentials in California CE allowance: $500–$1,000 per year, based on tenure and credentials Health package: Medical, dental, and vision insurance with HSA option and choice of United HealthCare or Kaiser Permanente Life insurance and disability Employee Assistance Program 401(k) with company match starting in 2027 Paid time off in accordance with site policy and applicable law Team culture focus Minimum Qualifications and Skill Set 3+ years of veterinary technician experience Active and good‑standing Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) in the state of California Proficiency in the following skills: Patient assessment, nursing care, and monitoring Anesthetic induction, monitoring, and recovery Surgical assistance and aseptic technique Venipuncture and intravenous catheter placement Radiology positioning and safety protocols Medication administration and accurate drug calculations Laboratory sample collection and in‑house diagnostic testing Experience with dentistry highly desired but not required *Part‑time team members may be eligible for limited benefits in accordance with company policy and state law.
