Forklift OperatorThis role focuses on safely operating forklifts and performing general warehouse labor within a busy distribution environment. You handle materials, support shipping and receiving activities, and use a tablet to maintain accurate inventory records while working as part of a collaborative team.ResponsibilitiesLoad and unload materials throughout the warehouse using a forklift and other material handling equipment.Move wood-based and foam products efficiently and safely to designated areas within the facility.Perform general labor tasks, including lifting and carrying products and materials weighing up to 50 pounds.Handle materials for shipping and receiving, ensuring items are processed and staged correctly.Operate a tablet or similar device to scan inventory and maintain accurate records of product movement.Follow established safety procedures and warehouse guidelines to maintain a safe work environment.Work effectively within a large production and warehouse setting alongside 20–25 team members.Adhere to the required split shift schedule, including second shift hours and occasional Saturdays.Demonstrate reliability by consistently reporting to work on time and completing assigned tasks.Communicate clearly with supervisors and coworkers to coordinate daily workload and priorities.Essential SkillsAt least 1 year of experience working in a distribution or warehouse environment.Proven experience operating a forklift in a production or warehouse setting.Ability to perform general labor tasks, including regular lifting of up to 50 pounds.Experience with material handling, loading, unloading, shipping, and receiving processes.Capability to use a tablet or similar device for inventory scanning and basic data entry.High school diploma or GED.Ability to work the required split shift, including second shift hours and some Saturdays.Understanding of basic warehouse safety practices and willingness to follow safety protocols.Reliable attendance and strong work ethic in a fast-paced environment.Additional Skills & QualificationsMore than 1 year of forklift and warehouse experience is highly preferred.Experience as a loader in shipping and receiving operations.Comfort working with wood-based and foam products in a production environment.Strong attention to detail when handling and tracking inventory.Ability to work collaboratively with a team of 20–25 employees.Willingness to learn and follow all warehouse and distribution safety requirements.Why Work Here?You join a stable, production-focused operation where teamwork, reliability, and safety are valued every day. The role is on second shift, typically 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with some Saturdays as needed. The dress code requires jeans and closed-toe shoes, with steel toe boots required for safety.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Middletown, NY.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $21.53 - $21.53/hr.
