Guest Service Associate – InterContinental Kansas City at the Plaza At Towne Park we create smiles by delivering exceptional hospitality experiences. We are looking for a Guest Service Associate to provide friendly, efficient service to patients, visitors and guests. Summary The Guest Service Associate is responsible for providing exceptional hospitality services to guests in an attentive, friendly, and efficient manner. Responsibilities Maintain a pleasant, friendly, and professional demeanor with all guests, co‑workers, and clients; greet guests within five feet and use guests’ last names. Use the appropriate salutation and welcome guests to the location, practicing proper Towne Park phone etiquette. Park and retrieve vehicles safely while driving slowly and cautiously; assist guests with bell services and luggage storage; open vehicle and hotel doors for guests. Assist guests with directions, taxis, reservations, and other inquiries; provide information about airports, meeting rooms, and local attractions. Explain parking rates and retrieval procedures, issue claim checks, and maintain accurate ticket information (key tags, vehicle location, damage survey, claim check receipt). Calculate and collect revenue for vehicles when required. Qualifications High school diploma or GED. Valid driver’s license for the state of employment (or within commutable distance). At least one month of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of customer and personal service principles. Reading, writing, and comprehension of standard English; basic arithmetic (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division). Understanding of 24‑hour and military time systems, rates applicable to time passed. Ability to operate a manual transmission is highly desirable; ability to perform parallel parking. Compensation & Benefits Hourly base pay: $12 per hour. Cash tips: $6 to $9 per hour. Shift bonus for select shifts, weekends, and 2nd shift preference. Work Schedule Workdays include weekdays, weekends, holidays – all shifts may be required.
