Safety & Security Officer

The Safety & Security Officer plays a pivotal role in ensuring a safe, secure, and seamless environment for all guests and team members. This position is responsible for maintaining a visible security presence throughout the property, proactively identifying and addressing potential safety hazards, and upholding the brand's standards for protection and guest experience. The Officer conducts regular patrols, responds swiftly to incidents, and enforces hotel policies while delivering exceptional, service‑focused communication. This role is critical to safeguarding the wellbeing, privacy, and peace of mind of everyone on property. Hotel, Resort, or Nightlife experience is required for this role.

Responsibilities include maintaining a professional security presence throughout the property, conducting regular property patrols, responding promptly to emergencies, supporting guest experience, monitoring security systems, investigating incidents, maintaining confidentiality, collaborating with Guest Services and outside agencies, managing security-related equipment, and performing additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, the ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, and respond quickly to incidents, the capability to exert up to 100 lbs. of force occasionally, 50 lbs. frequently, and 20 lbs. continuously, strong verbal and written communication skills, excellent listening, problem‑solving, and prioritization abilities, a warm, friendly, service‑driven demeanor, the ability to understand and apply detailed instructions, commitment to confidentiality, operational safety, and adherence to Highgate policies and grooming standards, reliable attendance and flexibility with scheduling, willingness to participate in required meetings, trainings, and cross‑training opportunities, demonstrated initiative, and the ability to anticipate guest and operational needs.
