About the Organization\n

At Welkins Mind Healthcare, we are committed to championing mental wellness within the community. Based in Ravena, New York, we operate as a community health clinic, providing a safe and confidential space for clients seeking mental health support. Our multidisciplinary team of mental health professionals collaborates to offer compassionate, client-centered care that addresses a broad spectrum of mental health issues, including addiction, trauma, anxiety, and depression.

Work Environment\n

This role is conducted remotely, allowing for flexibility while maintaining a professional and dedicated workspace. As part of our community health clinic, you will work closely with a collaborative team consisting of therapists and clinical supervisors, ensuring you have ample support and resources to maximize your impact on client outcomes.

Key Responsibilities\n

As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, you will engage in a variety of important tasks, including but not limited to:

\n

  • \n
  • Facilitating group therapy sessions to encourage shared experiences and peer support, fostering a sense of community among clients.
  • \n
  • Offering teletherapy services for clients who find it challenging to attend in-person appointments, thus expanding access to essential mental health care.
  • \n
  • Maintaining meticulous documentation for all client interactions and treatment activities to ensure compliance with ethical and professional standards.
  • \n
  • Participating in regular staff meetings and clinical supervision to engage in ongoing education, share insights, and align on best practices.
  • \n
Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your expertise in marriage and family therapy will be invaluable as you work with diverse client demographics, including couples, children, teens, and families. We highly value clinicians who can provide culturally competent care for clients of color, as well as those from the LGBTQIA community. This focus ensures that all clients receive tailored support that acknowledges and respects their unique backgrounds and experiences.

Qualifications\n
    \n
  • A Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy is required.
  • \n
  • Current and valid state-issued license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).
  • \n
  • A minimum of 2 years of full-time experience in counseling, with practical knowledge in handling various mental health challenges.
  • \n
Preferred Experience\n

While not mandatory, candidates with experience working with specific populations—such as couples facing relationship challenges, adolescents dealing with issues of self-esteem, or families navigating systemic stressors—are encouraged to apply. Additionally, experience providing services to underrepresented communities will be considered an asset.
