Travel RN - Operating Room

American Traveler is seeking an experienced CVOR RN with strong operating room skills for a teaching hospital assignment requiring a Minnesota RN license.

Job Details

• Work in the Operating Room, specializing in Cardiovascular OR (CVOR) cases,
• Acute care teaching hospital with Level 3 trauma designation,
• 3x12-hour day shifts (6:45a-7:15p) or evening shifts (11a-11:30p),
• Weekend coverage required as needed per department,
• On-call responsibilities required as needed per department,
• Float within the hospital or to an affiliate hospital nearby as needed,
• Uses Epic (Excellian) charting system,
• Block scheduling accommodations available,

Job Requirements

• Active or pending Minnesota RN license required,
• BLS certification required,
• Minimum 1 year of recent OR experience required, with strong surgical background,
• Previous travel nursing experience required,
• Community hospital experience required,
• Epic/Excellian charting experience required,
• Experience in specialties such as vascular, cardiovascular, general surgery, orthopedics, urology, gynecology, or robotics preferred based on assignment needs,
• Minimum 1 supervisor reference required for consideration,
• Documentation required includes date of birth, Social Security number, and certification copies,
• Fingerprinting via LiveScan required per Minnesota state background check regulations,

Additional Information

• Provide surgical support for a variety of CVOR and general OR procedures using electrosurgical units, fiber optic light sources, and specialized OR tables,
• Scrubs are provided by the facility,
• Candidates must reside at least 100 miles from the facility to be considered, as local candidates are not accepted for this position,
• Returning staff must have a 3-month gap since last working as a perm or per diem employee at the facility,
• RTO should ideally not exceed 5 days during the assignment,
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply,
• Facility does not provide references to travelers post-assignment or to former perm employees,
• Pre-start compliance modules are required prior to beginning the assignment
