Field Service Technician II

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Field Service Technician II to join a leading wireless communications organization in Chantilly, VA . The Field Service Technician II will install, program, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain two-way radio and wireless communications systems while supporting customer communication infrastructure. Field Service Technician II Responsibilities: Install, configure, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain wireless communications equipment including UHF/VHF, 800/900 MHz radio systems, dispatch consoles, microwave systems, wireless broadband devices, CCTV, and BDA/DAS systems. Program and manage radio codeplugs, including multi-zone, trunked, and 12+ channel configurations. Perform service and support on repeaters, antennas, duplexers, multicouplers, base stations, and related RF infrastructure. Utilize communications test equipment such as spectrum analyzers, service monitors, wattmeters, TDRs, FDRs, and multimeters to diagnose and resolve system issues. Recommend hardware and communications solutions that meet customer operational requirements and provide exceptional customer support. Field Service Technician II Qualifications: Valid driver's license required. Ability to successfully complete required background screening, motor vehicle record review, and drug screening. Associate degree in Electronics Technology or equivalent experience preferred. 3+ years of experience installing, troubleshooting, repairing, programming, and maintaining two-way radio or wireless communications systems. Strong knowledge of RF theory, RF propagation, UHF, VHF, 800/900 MHz systems, repeaters, antennas, duplexers, multicouplers, and base station equipment. Experience programming radios and creating/editing radio codeplugs. Ability to interpret schematics, blueprints, diagrams, and technical documentation. Experience with Motorola, Kenwood, ICOM, Vertex, or similar communications equipment preferred. Knowledge of TCP/IP networking principles and IP-connected communications systems. Experience supporting or installing DAS/BDA systems preferred.
