This National Guard position is for a SECURITY SPECIALIST (PROTECTION), Position Description Number D1164P01and is part of the HI JFHQ G3, National Guard LOCATION: Joint Force Headquarters, G3, Hawaii Army National Guard, Kapolei, Hawaii Learn more about this agency Duties Help SUMMARY OF DUTIES: The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the Joint Force Headquarters (State) (JFHQ-STATE) Protection Officer for Army and Air functional elements and related physical and operations security policy and issues, handling of intelligence and law enforcement sensitive information, managing assigned program areas, directing studies and reviewing, revising and implementing protection policy and projects.
- Serves as the JFHQ-State authority and expert on all matters involving protection functional elements and integration of enabling functional requirements, policy, procedures, program status and serves as the conduit of information between the intelligence community and local state and federal law enforcement.
- Responsible for synchronizing daily operations and integration, coordination and plans resource management requirements for the Protection Program functional elements of Antiterrorism (AT), Intelligence Support to Antiterrorism, Emergency Management (EM), Insider Threat, Law Enforcement (LE), Mission Assurance (MA), and Physical Security (PS) for the State.
- Receives filter, focus, and fuse information from military intelligence sources, publicly available information sources, and local, state and federal law enforcement sources to develop a clear understanding of real or potential threat to all state forces.
- Plans, conducts, directs the conduct of, or coordinates on site security studies, projects, assessments, and surveys of the State in relationship to protection activities.
- Represents the Adjutant General at meetings, conferences, workshops, panels, etc., at NGB, MAJCOM, MACOM and other federal agency levels as the state Protection Officer.
- May supervise AGR, Title 32, Title 5, contractors, and/or state employees directly, and through subordinate supervisors.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.
- Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
- Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.
- Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.
- Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
- Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
- May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
- Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
- Submit all documents/application NLT midnight Eastern Standard Time.
- Military Membership in the Hawaii National Guard is mandatory.
