Important: This is an onsite position in downtown Columbus, Ohio, five days per week.

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Procurement Consultant or Procurement Specialist to support major new generation projects, including the procurement and contracting of high-value equipment, construction services, materials, and other project-related goods and services.

This position will play a key role in supporting large-scale plant construction and generation projects , with contracts ranging from multimillion-dollar agreements to, in some cases, billion-dollar engagements. The ideal candidate will bring significant experience supporting major capital projects, construction, utilities, manufacturing, or other complex procurement environments .

A critical component of this position is the ability to develop and write contract summaries and detailed contractual requirements , including pricing, business requirements, performance criteria, terms and conditions, and risk mitigation provisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Procure high-value and complex goods, services, materials, manufactured equipment, and construction services supporting major generation projects.
• Assess business and project requirements and develop appropriate procurement and contracting plans.
• Draft and develop contracts, including pricing structures, business requirements, scopes, performance criteria, terms and conditions, and risk mitigation provisions .
• Support contracts ranging from multimillion-dollar agreements to highly complex major-project engagements.
• Develop and execute sourcing strategies based on business requirements, category strategies, market conditions, and procurement best practices.
• Lead competitive sourcing events, including RFPs, RFQs, and other solicitations.
• Develop negotiation strategies and lead commercial and contractual negotiations with suppliers and contractors.
• Partner with project, engineering, construction, legal, finance, operations, and other stakeholders throughout the sourcing and contracting process.
• Analyze supplier markets, spend, commercial proposals, and sourcing opportunities to support procurement decisions.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams during sourcing and contracting initiatives.
• Perform contract administration associated with sourcing events and major project agreements.
• Manage supplier performance, contract compliance, commercial risk, and contractual obligations.
• Coordinate with suppliers and internal stakeholders regarding delivery, transportation, and storage of high-value manufactured equipment and materials.
• Administer contractual provisions involving economic price adjustments, replacement programs, credit programs, and other commercial terms.
• Identify contractual and commercial risks and leverage contract terms to mitigate exposure and maximize value.
• Establish strong relationships with business partners, project teams, contractors, and strategic suppliers.
• Support Category Managers with category strategy development and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

Procurement Consultant

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Supply Chain, or a related field; OR 6 years of relevant work experience.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience , including experience working with cross-functional teams.
• Experience developing and writing contracts involving pricing, business requirements, performance criteria, terms and conditions, and risk mitigation.
• Supply chain/category management experience preferred.
• Experience within utilities, construction, manufacturing, energy, or major capital projects strongly preferred.

Procurement Specialist

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Supply Chain, or a related field required.
• At least 7 years of relevant experience in contract management, supply chain/procurement, or related paralegal/contracting work.
• Demonstrated experience developing, negotiating, and administering complex contracts.
• Experience within utilities, construction, manufacturing, energy, or major capital projects strongly preferred.
