responsibilities:

• Design, optimize, and execute multi-step synthetic routes for fatty acids, glycerides, phospholipids, and related lipid molecules.
• Develop preparative purification strategies using normal/reverse-phase chromatography, flash chromatography, and crystallization.
• Perform structural characterization and impurity profiling using HPLC, LC-MS/MS, NMR, FT-IR, and ELSD/CAD techniques.
• Scale up synthetic processes from bench scale to gram and hundreds-of-gram quantities for manufacturing transfer.
• Author comprehensive development reports, batch instructions, and technical documentation to support process validation.

 
qualifications:
Required:

• Ph.D. or M.S. in Organic Chemistry, Bio-Organic Chemistry, or Bioanalytical Chemistry with strong organic synthesis experience.
• Hands-on expertise in multi-step organic synthesis, reaction optimization, and complex molecule purification.
• Demonstrated proficiency interpreting HPLC, LC-MS/MS, NMR, and FT-IR data for reaction monitoring and identity confirmation.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot synthetic routes, document experimental work for tech transfer, and collaborate in cross-functional teams.

Preferred:

• Industrial experience with lipid chemistry, fatty acids, phospholipids, or surfactants.
• Hands-on experience scaling processes and utilizing flash/preparative systems (e.g., Biotage Isolera/Selekt).
