Surgery Scheduler FT No Weekends, No Call, No Holidays Overview Bon Secours Surgery Center at Harbour View is seeking a Full-time Surgery Scheduler. Job Description Under the direction of the Business Office Manager, the Surgery Scheduler is responsible for coordinating appointments, verifying insurance, and ensuring timely communication with offices and the center. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced healthcare setting. Must be able to work well with physician offices and OR staff on timely/sensitive issues that impact surgical cases and communicate in a professional manner. Areas of Responsibility (includes but not limited to the following) Scheduling Screen requested posting using value analysis tools Schedule all surgical procedures accurately and efficiently based on physician availability and procedure requirements May assist with pre-authorization and insurance verification Coordinate with anesthesia group to confirm scheduling for coverage Coordinate with PAT RN and Nurse Navigator pre-appointment instructions and answers scheduling-related questions Maintain accurate records in the scheduling system, Advantx Accurately use procedure codes to ensure proper billing Verify information being entered into the system is correct, i.e. spelling of name, DOB, gender, insurance information, etc. Ensure all necessary paperwork for any patient "add on" is received by the appropriate staff Communicate changes to schedule to appropriate staff Communicate with OR Director/Administrator regarding managing block time Work closely with OR leadership to avoid equipment or supply conflicts Collaborate with front office, clinical, and billing staff to ensure seamless patient experience Proactively identify and resolve scheduling conflicts or delays May be requested to visit the surgeon's offices for marketing and business development purposes Registration: provides back‑up Other Office Functions: other clerical duties as determined, cross‑training expected Qualifications Education: High School Graduate Experience One (1) year previous surgery scheduling experience in a hospital or clinical environment PREFERRED Ability to work independently and use time wisely to meet high‑paced demand Knowledge of medical terminology Good command of the English language, both verbal and written Positive attitude and willingness to learn Professional appearance What We Offer As a valued member of USPI, your health and well‑being are important to us.
