Job Summary and Qualifications As a Registered Nurse Bone Marrow Transplant, your voice influences patient care. You collaborate with your direct manager, participate in hospital councils, and contribute to national nursing initiatives. The Transplant and Cellular Therapy unit at St. David’s South Austin Medical Center treats adults with blood cancer and hematologic disorders. Our 24 bed inpatient unit offers stem cell transplants, Car T cell therapy, and clinical trials. We are the only FACT accredited facility in Austin. Program Highlights The only facility in Austin offering a Very Immunocompromised Program (VIP), which promptly identifies and treats immunocompromised oncology patients arriving in the ER Inpatient team works closely with our Outpatient Cancer Care Clinic Specialized educator support for new hires with continued education through the program Comprehensive interdisciplinary team including physicians, APPs, social workers, dieticians, chaplains, nurse coordinators, and rehabilitation therapists Annual participation in The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s Light the Night fundraiser Responsibilities Administer chemotherapy and biotherapy Transfuse blood products Provide evidence based care for patients with central venous access devices Administer autologous transplants, allogeneic transplants, and cellular therapies at the bedside under physician supervision Manage toxicities related to oncological treatments Administer investigational protocol and monitor Drain and post‑op management Telemetry monitoring Strong participation within the interdisciplinary team Job Requirements Experience 1 year of acute nursing experience as a Registered Nurse (RN) – preferred Education Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, BSN preferred Licenses and Certifications Current State of Texas Registered Nurse license or Compact Registered Nursing License (Texas license must be obtained within 90 days of hire) Basic Life Support certification per St. David’s Healthcare policy Advanced Cardiac Life Support within first year of hire Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate Provider card within first 6 months of hire Oncology Certified Nurse and/or Blood and Marrow Transplant Certified Nurse certification preferred Benefits Comprehensive medical, prescription drug, dental, vision, behavioral health and telemedicine services Wellbeing support including free counseling and referral services Paid time off, paid family leave, long‑ and short‑term disability coverage and leaves of absence 401(k) plan with 100% match on 3% to 9% of pay, employee stock purchase plan, flexible spending accounts and retirement readiness tools Education support through tuition assistance, student loan assistance, certification support, dependent scholarships and partnership with Galen College of Nursing Additional benefits for fertility and family building, adoption assistance, life insurance, supplemental health protection plans, auto and home insurance, legal counseling, identity theft protection and consumer discounts We are an equal opportunity employer.
