Occupational Health Nurse - RNBoise, ID - Boise, ID 83716OverviewSalary Range $50.00 - $52.00 Hourly Position Type Full Time Travel Percentage None Category NursingDescriptionJob Summary: The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing direct patient care, injury and illness management, medical surveillance, wellness initiatives, episodic convenience care and assisting with other occupational and environmental health services, as needed, while maintaining a professional and patient-centered approach in an occupational setting.Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:00am - 3:30pmResponsibilitiesProvide on-site treatment / management of injuries and minimize the need for off-site medical treatmentGive on-site care, first aid and follow up to occupationally injured/ill workersOngoing communication with the treating physician regarding employee clinical statusCoordinate care with WorkCare's Incident Intervention Injury Management Program and utilize Physician escalation services as neededProvide episodic care for minor medical issues, medical consultation and recommendations according to treatment care guidelines set forth and in collaboration with WorkCare Consulting Medical Director (CMD) and policy/proceduresSupport injury prevention through education and ergonomic evaluationHelp employees prevent injuries and manage painReport to client and WorkCare management periodicallyContribute insight to incident reports and tracking of injury and clinic utilization dataOrder and maintain supplies to ensure that the clinic is appropriately stockedParticipate in general flow of clinic operationsProvide dose of common pre-packaged over the counter (OTC) medicine to employees for episodic care at no cost to the employee, as well as follow up care, which must be provided by the employee's personal medical providerPerform additional duties and assume additional responsibilities as identified by manager for the efficient operation of WorkCare.QualificationsEducation and ExperienceMust be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a valid Idaho RN licenseBachelor of Science in Nursing is highly preferredMust hold current BLS certification3–5 years RN experience required2-3 years' experience in a urgent care, emergency department or occupational health setting preferredCertification in Occupational Health, preferredSkills and CompetenciesStrong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.Must be able to demonstrate the ability of maintaining privacy and confidentiality.Strong critical thinking skills; problem solving, and decision making.Must have the ability to gather data, compile information and prepare reports.Ability to manage multiple priorities, with attention to detail and accuracy.Ability to create and edit written materials.Ability to communicate effectively to a variety of audiences.Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities.Demonstrate cooperative behavior with colleagues, supervisors and clients.Strong time management, organizational, and follow-through skills.Ability to meet and exceed daily and weekly individual performance goals.Ability to work independently as well as assisting other team members when needed.Requires regular and predictable attendance and punctualityComputer SkillsMust be competent in the Windows operating system environment, Adobe Professional, Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and learn other software as needed.Physical DemandsRequires sitting for long periods of time, working at a desk.Ability to work under stressful, sometimes unpredictable situations.Manual dexterity required for use of handling medical equipment, performing procedures, computer keyboard; Use hands/fingers to handle, control, or fell objects, tools, or controls.Required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel and/or crouch; Some bending and stretching could be required.May occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.Ability to kneel and perform chest compressions for CPR life saving measures.Require daily walk to & from parking lot to clinic; may need to navigate uneven walkways and terrain due to construction site.May drive emergency vehicle within the site when responding to an accident.Work EnvironmentMainly indoor, office environment conditions.The noise level is usually moderate.Air quality is good, and temperature is controlled.This position has an hourly pay range of $50 - $52 per hour.
