Contract | Night Shift | Onsite | Shifts: 6:30 PM-7:00 AM or 6:30 AM-7:00 PM | Every other weekend required | 1 major and 1 minor holiday required | Cyclic scheduling

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a fast-paced stepdown unit managing common diagnoses including heart failure, atrial fibrillation, respiratory distress, and stroke
• Titrate drips including Cardizem, amiodarone, and nitroglycerin per protocol
• Read and independently interpret telemetry strips; tele/monitor techs are not available for this function
• Manage respiratory support equipment including CPAP as appropriate
• Collaborate with charge nurses and patient care techs in a team-based environment with a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Float to ICU when appropriate and based on experience

Required Qualifications

• Active RN licensure
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Must successfully pass an open-book skills assessment during orientation with a minimum score of 90%
• Valid driver's license required at time of submittal
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
• Candidates may not be currently employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity within the past year
• Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care departments; compliance is required to maintain contract

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in a stepdown, PCU, or IMC setting
• Experience titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips
• ICU experience or background that supports floating capability
• Positive, team-oriented approach with a strong patient-centered focus
