Position Responsibilities
- Perform thorough patient assessments, conducting physical exams and reviewing comprehensive medical histories
- Assist in diagnosing surgical conditions through analysis of imaging studies and lab findings
- Work hand-in-hand with surgeons to develop and implement tailored surgical treatment strategies
- Provide crucial intraoperative assistance by preparing operating rooms, ensuring appropriate patient positioning, and expertly passing instruments during procedures
- Deliver exceptional pre-operative and post-operative care, encompassing medication management, wound care, discharge planning, and patient education
- Hold a Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program
- Prior clinical rotations with a surgical emphasis are highly preferred
- Active and unrestricted PA-C certification
- BLS and ACLS certifications are necessary
- Valid state licensure (or eligibility) as a Physician Assistant
- Comprehensive understanding of surgical practices and sterile techniques
- Demonstrated ability to analyze diagnostic results and engage in intricate clinical decision-making
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
- Capacity to perform well under pressure, especially during surgical situations
