Job Title: Oncology Infusion Registered Nurse (RN) Unit: Outpatient Infusion Shift: 0700-1730, 0730-1800, 0800-1830 and weekends Status: Full Time/80 hours per pay Facility: Miami Valley Hospital South The Oncology Infusion/PICC Nurse is a registered nurse (RN) who partners with and advocates for patients, families, and significant others to provide physical, emotional and spiritual support. This role promotes professionalism, excellence, and autonomy in nursing practice, using the nursing process and evidence-based principles to care for a diverse caseload within the department’s scope of service. The nurse serves as guide, healer, collaborator, teacher, leader, and sentry, collaborating with the inter‑professional team and ensuring compliance with the Ohio Nurse Practice Act, the Nursing Code of Ethics, and applicable regulatory standards. As an Oncology Infusion/PICC Nurse, the oncology nurse collaborates with other cancer‑care team members to assess and respond to the full impact of cancer on the patient and family, including physical symptoms, functional limitations, psychosocial disruptions, and knowledge needs. Oncology nursing is patient‑centered and may involve individuals, families, groups, and communities. The scope of practice includes health promotion, disease prevention, treatment, disease management, psychosocial support, patient education, and active participation in decision‑making. The nurse actively participates in professional development activities such as quality assessment, practice evaluation, professional education, collegiality, interdisciplinary collaboration, and the review and clinical application of research findings. The role integrates the Collaborative Model of Care with a strong patient‑centered focus, provides care for patients of all ages, and demonstrates competency in chemotherapy and immunotherapy administration, IV therapy, and subcutaneous and intramuscular injection administration. Knowledge of ONS guidelines is required during any adverse event while administering chemotherapy, such as extravasations, infiltrations, or chemotherapy spill incidents. Education Minimum Level of Education Required: Associate degree Additional requirements: Graduation from an accredited school of nursing Licensure, Certification, and Registration Valid Ohio RN license Current CPR certification required at the time of hire Fundamentals of CPR Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy certification or must obtain within 6 months OCN certification — must obtain within 1 year of eligibility ACLS required within 90 days of hire Experience Minimum Level of Experience Required: 1 – 3 years of job‑related experience Preferred experience: Expertise in peripheral venipuncture and expert assessment skills related to vascular access and IV therapy access and IV therapy Other experience requirements: N/A Knowledge/Skills Can multitask with constant interruptions while maintaining a pleasant demeanor Basic computer knowledge Strong organization skills Effective interpersonal and communication skills #J-18808-Ljbffr Premier Health
