Are you ready to join us?Pay Transparency: Our salary ranges are structured to provide opportunities for growth and advancement within a role. As a result, most new hires are placed between the minimum and midpoint of the range based on qualifications and experience, while the top of the range is generally reserved for employees who have demonstrated sustained expertise and performance in the position. The anticipated pay for new hires entering as a Dental Group Underwriter I is between $50,300 to $60,400 which is between the minimum and midpoint of the range. The anticipated pay for new hires entering as a Dental Group Underwriter II is between $56,400 to $67,700 which is between the minimum and midpoint of the range. The full pay range for a I is $50,300 to $70,500. The full pay range for a II is $56,000 to $78,000. Pay is based on non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to work experience, education, location, licensure requirements, proficiency and qualifications, and company tenure & equity. In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan based on company performance and individual performance.This is a multi level position with increasing levels of responsibilities at each levelGroup Underwriter I OverviewThis entry-level position is responsible for producing rates for relevant group products, including both new groups and renewals (small and mid-market cases), using the Company's proposal and renewal system. The role involves preparing proposals and renewals using relevant software. Additionally, the Underwriter verifies rates on sold cases as required and completes financial exhibits following established guidelines under the direction of the Underwriting Manager or Supervisor.Essential Duties:Assesses risk and produces rates for new groups with guidance from senior level rolesCompletes annual renewals for all products and performs related maintenance tasksServices current group clients including benefit changes, reporting, and response to telephone and email inquiriesVerifies sold case data including final ratingPerforms other related duties and responsibilities as assignedRequired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:General knowledge of Life and Health insurance products preferredUnderstanding of underwriting principles and rating methodologyIntermediate MS Office skillsStrong math and analytical skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to establish priorities and manage multiple projects simultaneously with guidance from senior level rolesRequired Education and Experience:High school diploma or equivalent4 - 6 years of related experienceOr, equivalent military experiencePreferred Education and Experience:Associates Degree with 5 years of related experienceLOMA, HIAA1 year of underwriting experience#USAL1Equal Opportunity Employer This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
