If so, we encourage you to apply!Key job responsibilities- Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance distributed systems that power AWS Network Firewall's traffic inspection and filtering capabilities- Write clean, efficient, and well-tested code in languages such as Java, Python, or C++ to deliver features that protect customer networks at cloud scale- Collaborate with senior engineers and cross-functional teams to define technical requirements, architect solutions, and drive implementation of new firewall features- Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues across distributed systems, contributing to operational excellence through on-call rotations and root cause analysis- Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and documentation efforts to uphold engineering best practices and raise the bar for team quality- Contribute to the full software development lifecycle—from design and implementation through testing, deployment, and monitoring in a CI/CD environment- Identify opportunities to improve system reliability, performance, and security while reducing operational burden through automation and toolingBasic qualifications- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience- Experience programming with at least one software programming languagePreferred qualification - 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalentAmazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status.Our inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
