Senior Applied Research Engineer – Needham, MA At SharkNinja, we build products that improve people's lives every day. We’re looking for a Senior Applied Research Engineer to join our New Product Development team and help push the boundaries of what consumer products can do. What You’ll Do Lead hands‑on design and development of consumer products from concept through launch and support Work daily with cross‑functional engineering and product teams to understand system performance and tradeoffs Drive brainstorming sessions, build proof‑of‑concept prototypes, and run rigorous tests Mentor mechanical engineers, co‑ops, and interns See your work come to life — in stores, online, and in homes around the world What You Bring BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering with 5+ years of product design and development experience Strong intuition for physics and engineering fundamentals — equally at home running an experiment as reviewing data Proficiency in SolidWorks or CREO; comfort with Excel, Minitab, or MATLAB for data analysis Hands‑on prototyping skills: 3D printing, machining, hand tools, and clean assembly work Experience designing and executing controlled experiments in a lab setting Clear communicator who can translate technical findings for any audience Bonus Points Background at a consumer product or consulting firm Experience with electronics, sensors, motors, heaters, or PCBAs Proven ability to juggle multiple projects without losing sight of long‑term goals Why SharkNinja We’re a voted Best Place to Work (Boston, 2022) with a culture built on curiosity, candor, and winning as a team. This is a full‑time, in‑person role at our Needham, MA office. Salary and Other Compensation The annual salary range for this position is $85,000—$145,000 USD. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
