What you’ll be responsible for: As a Director, Data Engineering at Circle, you’ll work closely with Engineers productizing data solutions and scalable data pipelines that support these solutions. You’ll have the opportunity to significantly impact internal data consumption and decision making. What you’ll work on: Drive data engineering efforts, communicate cross-functionally, and be a subject matter expert Partner with Analytics, Product, and Engineering teams to build out platforms and datasets to enable the business by creating road maps and help prioritize data engineering work Support the individual and career growth of team members to minimize attrition and maximize output Become an expert on data sources and ETL flows at Circle Implement, maintain and optimize data warehouse as well as other tooling Manage a team data engineers (managers and ICs) You will aspire to our four core values: Driven by Excellence - you are driven by our mission and our passion for customer success which means you relentlessly pursue excellence, that you do not tolerate mediocrity and you work intensely to achieve your goals. What you’ll bring to Circle: 10+ years of industry experience working with large datasets and modern data tools 5+ years of experience with technical leadership and people management Knowledge of a scientific computing language (Python) and Expert at SQL Theoretical and applied expertise in database / data warehouse design Hands-on experience with common software development flows and tools (Linux, git, AWS) Experience designing and implementing complex modeling solutions from ideation to production at scale Ability to understand complex business problems and break down analytics projects into a structured approach. Track record of developing, managing and retaining data engineers. Experience managing remote teams Additional Information: This position is eligible for day-one PERM sponsorship for qualified candidates. Starting pay is determined by various factors, including but not limited to: relevant experience, skill set, qualifications, and other business and organizational needs. Please note that compensation ranges may differ for candidates in other locations. Base Pay Range: $227,500 - $292,500 Annual Bonus Target: 20% Also Included: Equity & Benefits (including medical, dental, vision and 401(k)). Circle has a discretionary vacation policy.
