This includes being directly responsible for the implementation, maintenance, and continuance of the facility safety, health policies, and procedures. Standard working hours are Monday-Friday 8 am to 5 pm with occasional overtime and weekend hours./ph3Duties and Responsibilities:/h3ulliOversees the safety program and initiates steps that will improve the level of safety./liliReviews and updates the safety policies and procedures in accordance with Company goals and in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and guidelines./liliMakes sure all new employees are properly trained./liliReviews safety related documents and narratives such as Safety Committee minutes, inspection reports, forklift inspection checklist, accident investigation reports and near miss reports./liliMaintains the OSHA 300 logs./liliMaintains liaison between management and outside regulatory agencies in accordance with Company policy and statutory guidelines./liliChairs the safety committee./liliKeeps records of all employee training, corrections of unsafe conditions, dates and results of workplace inspections./liliSubmits necessary documentation to the corporate office for recordkeeping./liliMaintains all weekly, monthly, and yearly, safety inspections./liliMaintains all hazardous material and hazardous material area checks./liliMaintains the MSDS log book./li/ulh3Required Knowledge / Skills/Abilities:/h3ulliEffective written and verbal communication skills./liliComputer operations skills./liliBasic mathematics skills./liliKnowledge of SAP./liliKnowledge of OSHA regulations and plant safety./liliKnowledge of CPR and First Aid./liliKnowledge of quality control./li/ulh3Education and Experience:/h3ulliRequired:/liulliHigh School Diploma required/liliThree Years of Safety Experience/liliFirst Aid/CPR/AED certification/li/ulliPreferred:/liulliAssociates Degree or Technical College Degree/li/ul/ulh3Working Conditions:/h3ulliManufacturing Plant environment where the plants may be dirt, dusty, and hotter/colder than office settings./liliMonday Friday; 8:00 am 5:00 pm./liliOccasional overtime or weekends required./liliLimited travel for meetings./li/ulh3Physical Requirements:/h3pPersonal Protective Equipment (PPE) Used:/pulliEye and hearing protection is required at all times on the production floor./liliSafety toe shoes (steel/composite) on the production floor./liliOther PPE as defined by management within assigned department./li/ulh3Benefits / Salary Transparency/h3pOur employees well-being is key to Carlisles success.
