Job Title: Warehouse Worker Job Description
This role focuses on general warehouse operations, including shipping and receiving, stocking, picking, packing, and inventory activities. You will work in a fast-paced environment using RF scanning equipment and manual pallet jacks to handle materials, organize stock, and ensure accurate order fulfillment.
Responsibilities

• Perform shipping and receiving duties, including loading and unloading materials and verifying incoming and outgoing shipments.
• Stock shelves and storage locations, ensuring items are organized, labeled, and easily accessible.
• Sort packages and organize items to maintain an orderly and efficient warehouse layout.
• Pick orders accurately based on pick lists or scanner prompts and prepare them for shipment.
• Pack boxes and orders securely, following packaging standards to prevent damage during transit.
• Use RF scanners and scan guns to scan, label, and mark items, and to update inventory records.
• Conduct basic inventory tasks such as counting, tracking, and reporting stock levels.
• Operate manual pallet jacks and hand carts to move materials safely throughout the warehouse.
• Support general labor and warehouse production tasks as needed to meet daily operational goals.
• Follow all safety procedures while working in narrow aisles with forklifts and hand carts.
• Adhere to warehouse rules regarding electronics and personal items, maintaining a focused and safe work environment.
• Collaborate with team members and leadership to meet productivity, accuracy, and quality standards.

Essential Skills

• 0-6 months of related warehouse or general labor experience.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Ability to perform general labor tasks in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
• Experience or comfort with packing boxes and orders for shipment.
• Ability to use RF scanners and scan guns for scanning, labeling, and inventory updates.
• Basic knowledge of shipping and receiving processes.
• Ability to stock and restock shelves and storage areas efficiently.
• Experience with picking orders and preparing them for packing and shipping.
• Ability to operate a manual pallet jack and handle material movement safely.
• Basic inventory skills, including counting and tracking items.
• Ability to follow safety guidelines and navigate narrow aisles with material handling equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy when scanning, labeling, and organizing items.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Previous warehouse experience preferred.
• Experience with warehouse production work and material handling.
• Comfort working with RF scan guns and other warehouse scanning equipment.
• Willingness to learn and operate CROWN trucks after training and certification upon permanent hire.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
• Reliability and consistency in meeting productivity and quality expectations.

Work Environment
This position is based in a fast-paced warehouse with narrow aisles where forklifts and hand carts move rapidly in safety-conscious directions. The environment is strictly safety-focused, and cellphones or electronics are not permitted in the warehouse. Temperature conditions vary by season: the warehouse is heated to around 60 degrees in the winter and can become very hot in the summer, with fans and water coolers available throughout the facility. Workers should dress in light, breathable layers appropriate for changing temperatures. Footwear must be closed-toe and suitable for warehouse work, such as sneakers, boots, or steel-toe shoes; open-toe shoes, sandals, flats, and heels are not allowed.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Dayton, NJ.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.25 - $19.75/hr.
