INTERNAL MEDICINE HEMATOLOGY/ONCOLOGY Department: The Department

Reports To: Clinical Leadership 1. POSITION SUMMARY This role provides comprehensive hematology and oncology care within a multidisciplinary clinical environment. The physician will evaluate, diagnose, and manage malignant and non malignant hematologic conditions, as well as solid tumor oncology cases, while supporting evidence based practice and contributing to a large regional referral network. 2. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES • Conduct hematology/oncology evaluations and document findings in an industry standard EMR.
• Diagnose and manage a broad range of hematologic and oncologic conditions.
• Interpret laboratory, pathology, and imaging studies to guide treatment decisions.
• Communicate care plans, treatment options, and results clearly to patients and families.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support coordinated cancer care. 3. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS • Active or obtainable State medical license.
• Active or obtainable State controlled substance registration.
• Board Eligible or Board Certified in Internal Medicine Hematology/Oncology. 4. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS • Experience practicing in a multidisciplinary oncology program.
• Interest in working within a collaborative, team based environment. 5. COMPETENCIES • Strong diagnostic reasoning and clinical judgment.
• Effective communication with patients, families, and clinical teams.
• Proficiency with industry standard EMR systems.
• Commitment to evidence based hematology/oncology practice.
• Ability to manage a full time clinical workload. 6. CLINICAL RESPONSIBILITIES • Provide evaluation, treatment, and follow up care for hematologic and oncologic conditions.
• Interpret diagnostic studies relevant to cancer and blood disorders.
• Perform Evaluation and Management documentation consistent with professional standards.
• Coordinate care with surgeons, radiation oncologists, interventional radiologists, and supportive care teams.
• Support continuity of care across outpatient settings. 7. ADMINISTRATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES • Maintain accurate and compliant clinical documentation.
• Participate in departmental quality and performance initiatives. 8. WORK SETTING & ENVIRONMENT Work Environment: Outpatient
• Outpatient hematology/oncology practice with multidisciplinary collaboration.
• Access to infusion services, laboratory resources, and pharmacy support.
• Support from nurse navigators, research staff, social workers, nutritionists, and financial counselors.
• Large referral network from primary care and specialty clinicians.
• Use of industry standard EMR systems. 9. SCHEDULE & CALL REQUIREMENTS Flexible outpatient schedule with manageable call responsibilities. 10.
