JOB SUMMARY

You'll work within ASI's Commercial Landscaping division to improve the reliability and release readiness of the M.52 autonomous commercial mower. You'll collaborate across Field, Hardware, Perception, Firmware, Web, and Data teams to understand system behavior, identify risks, and build confidence in new machines and software releases. In this role, you will own and evolve the systems that tell us whether the M.52 is ready to ship: simulation-based regression testing, autonomy hardware-in-the-loop testing, physical robot validation, and the run-in procedures used for new and rebuilt machines. This is a hands-on role combining Python-based infrastructure, field troubleshooting, and testing on real robotic equipment.

Requirements
● Plan and coordinate multi-week release validation cycles to put required hours on a software build before it ships.
● Own the sim regression suite. Maintain and extend the scenario coverage, keep runtime and flakiness under control, and improve the architecture as it grows.
● Own the autonomy HWITL system: keep it running, debug it when it breaks, and finish the work to get results into the cloud as tracked metrics for software performance.
● Build test infrastructure and tooling in Python: runners, log parsing, results reporting, dashboards and lower the barrier for other engineers to write their own tests.
● Re-establish run-in testing for new and rebuilt machines: procedures, acceptance criteria, instrumentation, and the data we keep.
● Root cause new mid- and high-priority field issues, and turn them into regression tests so they don't ship twice.
● Test the mobile app end to end against the robot
● Establish the test procedures and documentation a growing test team will work from.

Qualifications
● Building test plans and running structured test cycles against real acceptance criteria.
● Python for test automation, tooling, and data analysis.
● Linux, the command line, containers, and CI (GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or similar).
● Running and maintaining automated regression suites, including simulation-based ones.
● Root cause analysis and troubleshooting across software, embedded, and hardware boundaries.
● Working with software and embedded systems running on physical hardware out in the field.
● Systems engineering thinking and processes.
● Clear written reporting - test plans, defect reports, and results others can act on.

Preferred Qualifications
● Stood up or rebuilt a test infrastructure or automated regression system.
● Tested autonomy stacks - localization, perception, planning, controls.
● Tested off-road, turf, agricultural, or construction equipment.
● Run production run-in, burn-in, or acceptance testing for a hardware product
