Job Title

Registered Nurse (RN) – ICU

Location

Omaha, NE | Acute Care

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Night Shifts | 12-hour shifts (1830–0700) | Every other weekend required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in an ICU setting with a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio, caring for patients with diagnoses including COPD, pneumonia, CVA/TIA, DKA, sepsis, CHF, STEMI, and neuro conditions
• Titrate drips including vasopressors, insulin, TNK, heparin, IV antibiotics, and sedatives
• Independently read and interpret telemetry/cardiac monitor strips
• Manage and troubleshoot respiratory equipment including ventilators and BiPAP
• Float to PCU and medical floors as unit needs require
• Complete a required open-book skills exam during orientation with a minimum passing score of 90%

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Valid driver's license required at time of submittal
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
• Candidates currently employed full-time, part-time, or PRN at any facility associated with CommonSpirit (including CHI and/or Dignity) are not eligible
• Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care departments; compliance is required for contract continuation

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior ICU nursing experience with complex, critically ill patient populations
• Experience titrating vasoactive and sedation drips in a critical care environment
• Familiarity with ventilator management and advanced respiratory support equipment
