Headquartered in New Orleans, Louisiana, we thrive on building communities, building teams, building leaders, and growing the business throughout the Southeast region with offices in Mississippi, Tennessee, and Alabama.About the RoleWe're looking for a Pile Driver that will be responsible for assisting in the installation of deep foundation elements, including driving structural piles to specified depths and tolerances. This role involves assisting with and maintaining pile driving equipment, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and supporting other team members in achieving project objectives efficiently and accurately. The applicant should also be experienced in erecting, disassembling, and working with pile driving equipment such as leads, hammers, powerpacks, templates and work trestles.Core ResponsibilitiesPile Operation and Equipment FunctionsErecting, disassembling, and working with and around pile equipmentPreparation, aligning, plumbing, setting, testing of pilingMust be able to assist in the erection and dismantle of lattice boom cranesAssist in the training of less experienced Crew members.Guide piles during driving to maintain alignment and plumbness.Monitor hammer strikes and report any irregularities.Report any deviations or obstructions encountered.Support testing procedures (e.g., PDA or static load tests).Rigging, Lifting, and Material HandlingAssist and coordinate with Crane Operator in safe rigging and Heavy Lift protocolsCommunicate through standard crane hand signals for safe operationsInspect and maintain rigging equipment and materialsMaintain and inspect tools and machinery for safe operation.Safe OperationsFollow all OSHA and company safety protocols.Wear appropriate PPE (hard hat, gloves, eye protection, etc.).Maintain high situational awareness to prevent unsafe conditions or incidents.Identify hazardous conditions or behaviors and report them immediately.Contribute to a positive safety culture and uphold RNGD's Safety Always core value.Participate in daily safety briefings and hazard assessments.Site MaintenanceAssist with cleanup and housekeeping on site.Support other crew members as needed for efficiency.Perform minor repairs or adjustments to equipment.Preferred Qualifications5+ years of experience as a Pile Driver HelperAbility to obtain and maintain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC)Must be able obtain and hold basic rigging certification or willing to test.Previous rigging and lifting training.Strong understanding of safety regulations and PPE requirements.Core CompetenciesRNGD Values AlignmentExemplifies RNGD's core values:Renegade MentalitySweep FloorsBuild TogetherHonor PromisesTeam Member AttitudeAssist and conduct actions that enhance the team and its members.Works cooperatively with the project team to complete pile operations safely and efficiently.Assists in logistics, material handling, and equipment tasks as needed.Safety-MindedFollows all operational and safety procedures rigorously.Identifies and reports hazards immediately.Promotes a safe work environment for self and others.CommunicationUses hand signals and radio communication effectively.Collaborates closely with operators, signalers, foremen, and field teams.Provides clear, concise updates and reports.Detail-OrientedEnsures accuracy in load preparation, rigging, documentation, and log maintenance.Follows lift plans, procedures, and specifications precisely.RNGD is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
