HR Specialist

The HR Specialist supports day-to-day HR operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, ensuring smooth employee lifecycle processes from onboarding to offboarding. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate employee records, supporting recruitment and training activities, coordinating benefits and payroll processes, and ensuring compliance with labor laws, the Collective Bargaining Agreement, and company policies.

Key responsibilities include serving as the first point of contact for employee HR inquiries, directing them to the appropriate resources or escalating as needed. Support HR initiatives that promote a positive and productive work environment.

Principal activities include employee support and relations, recruitment and onboarding, HR records and compliance, payroll and benefits administration, training and development, and planning and organization.

The scope of decision-making typically involves routine yet essential administrative and personnel-related tasks. This includes assisting in the recruitment process, scheduling interviews, maintaining employee records, processing payroll and attendance data, and ensuring compliance with labor laws, the Collective Bargaining Agreement, and company policies.

Qualifications, knowledge, skills, and experience required include a high school diploma or equivalent, 13 years of HR or administrative experience, knowledge of HR policies, labor laws, and best practices, proficiency in MS Office Suite; experience with HRIS or payroll systems preferred, strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy, ability to handle confidential information with integrity, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
