We design, manufacture, and deploy advanced sensor systems that deliver real-time insights for defense and commercial applications.Position Overview:As we expand, we're looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team to help us accelerate our product development initiatives.Location:We do our best work together! This role is primarily onsite in Syracuse, NY, with some flexibility to work remotely when the role and schedule allow.Responsibilities:Derive and document Mechanical system requirements working collaboratively with multiple technical disciplinesUse 3D solid modeling to design mechanical solutions for tightly controlled enclosures and fixtures Perform structural, thermal, and other failure analyses to meet environmental and structural requirements Optimize designs for feasibility, manufacturability, cost, thermal performance, strength-weight efficiency, and ease of assembly Create andmaintaincable assemblies/harnesses and other peripheral interface designs Solve design challenges using a variety of materials and fabrication methods including plastics, composites, metals, 3D-printing, machining, etc.Define,maintain, and communicate requirements to 3rd-party fabrication houses and work closely with them throughcomponentand product deliveryPerform design verification and integration of new components and support in-field testingAuthor assembly instructions and drawings in support of in-house productionAid with the management of bills of material (BOM) and other production and fabrication artifactsReview hardware parts for obsolescence and identify suitable replacementsDevelop and provide information in support of project planning, execution, and oversightWhat We’re Looking For:A desire to own project assignments and work creatively and collaboratively on cross-disciplinary teams to deliver solutions that impress our customers and move our industry forward.An open-minded approach to solving challenges, and proactive development of backup plans to ensure the team can hit the mark even when encountering the unexpected.A mindset trained on long-term goals and objectives, balanced with making demonstratable incremental steps along the way to meet the pace of our industry.Excellent written and verbal communication skills to efficiently convey complex ideas, coupled with an ability to listen, question, and understand stakeholder needs.Required Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering5+years of professional experienceProficiency with 3D CAD modeling toolsProficiency with performing thermal and structural analysis, detailed tolerance studies, dimensional fits and clearances analysis, and environmental hardeningProficiency in utilizing Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) to convey requirements on drawingsAbility to work in a fast-paced environment and overcome technical challenges through teamwork and collaboration Preferred Qualifications:Experience with the design and development ofhardened electronics enclosuresExperience providing design oversight and detailed mechanical design review feedbackExperience with strict configuration management and design controlExperience with the following (or similar): Design and implementation of radar, communication, and other sensor systems SolidWorks 3D modeling software FEA simulation using ANSYS softwareConfiguration management systems such as SolidWorks Product Data Management (PDM)Compensation and Benefits: Hidden Level offers a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, paid parental leave, flexible time off, 401(k) with employer contributions, life insurance, disability insurance, and potential stock options.Salary Range: The salary range for this position is estimated at $113,000to $140,000annually.
