Enterprise Architect
$120k - $150kiVision Consulting
Job Description
iVision Consulting is seeking a Mid-Level Enterprise Architect to support a large-scale Federal enterprise IT transformation and centralization initiative. Working as part of an integrated architecture and technical team, you will support the assessment, planning, architecture, and integration of enterprise IT services across a complex, federated environment.
\nThe Enterprise Architect will work across multiple Foundational IT domains, including network, endpoint, cybersecurity, identity and access management, compute and hosting, storage, data center and cloud infrastructure, communications and collaboration, service desk, and other enterprise shared services. The role requires someone who can understand both the technical details of individual IT domains and the dependencies between them, translating current-state findings and future-state objectives into actionable architectures, transition strategies, and implementation plans.
\nThe ideal candidate is a hands-on architect and problem solver who is comfortable working with technical SMEs, program leadership, service owners, and stakeholders across a large enterprise.
\n \nCandidate must be a U.S. Citizen and be able to obtain a Public Trust.
\nThis is a hybrid position and requires 2 days/week onsite at Bethesda, Maryland.
\n \nWhat You Will Do :
\n- \n
- Support the Enterprise Architecture and Technical Integration Lead in developing and maintaining enterprise architecture products that enable IT centralization, modernization, and transition. \n
- Assess current-state IT environments, services, technologies, architectures, integrations, dependencies, and operational models and help define target-state and transitional architectures. \n
- Work across Foundational IT domains including Endpoint Services, Network Services, Security Services, Identity and Access Management, Compute and Hosting, Storage, Data Centers, Cloud Infrastructure, Communications and Collaboration, Service Desk, and Enterprise Computing. \n
- Provide particular support to early centralization activities involving Endpoint, Network, and Security Services, while supporting architecture and integration needs across the broader Foundational IT portfolio. \n
- Analyze technical dependencies and integration points across infrastructure, platforms, security, applications, services, organizations, and service providers. \n
- Develop architecture diagrams, technical models, capability maps, dependency maps, interface views, service inventories, decision analyses, and other enterprise architecture artifacts. \n
- Support development of current-state, transition-state, and future-state architectures and identify gaps between existing environments and target enterprise capabilities. \n
- Translate business, mission, operational, security, and technical requirements into practical architecture recommendations and technical solution options. \n
- Support technical analysis of opportunities to standardize, consolidate, integrate, modernize, or retire technologies and services. \n
- Evaluate technical alternatives and document architecture decisions, assumptions, constraints, risks, dependencies, and tradeoffs. \n
- Support development of migration paths, transition approaches, sequencing, technical readiness criteria, and implementation roadmaps for moving from decentralized environments to enterprise services. \n
- Collaborate with infrastructure, network, cloud, cybersecurity, endpoint, operations, and other technical SMEs to ensure solutions are integrated across workstreams rather than developed in isolation. \n
- Facilitate technical working sessions, architecture reviews, and discussions with service owners, technical teams, and stakeholders. \n
- Help identify technical risks, interoperability issues, architecture gaps, and cross-workstream dependencies and develop recommendations for resolution. \n
- Support development and application of enterprise architecture principles, standards, patterns, reference architectures, and technical governance. \n
- Develop clear technical documentation, presentations, analyses, and recommendations for both technical and non-technical audiences. \n
- Support enterprise planning by providing architecture inputs to integrated workplans, dependency maps, roadmaps, migration schedules, and readiness assessments. \n
- Work collaboratively with program management, enterprise planning, organizational change management, reporting/analytics, and technical teams to connect architecture decisions with execution. \n
What You Need :
\n- \n
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field. \n
- 6-10 years of relevant professional experience in enterprise architecture, solution architecture, infrastructure architecture, systems engineering, IT modernization, or a related technology field. \n
- Demonstrated experience supporting enterprise-scale IT environments involving multiple technologies, systems, organizations, and stakeholders. \n
- Working knowledge across several enterprise infrastructure domains, such as: Network architecture and services; Endpoint/device management; Cybersecurity and Zero Trust; Identity and Access Management (IAM); Compute, hosting, and virtualization; Storage and data center services; Cloud infrastructure and services; Communications and collaboration platforms; IT service management and service desk. \n
- Experience conducting current-state assessments, gap analyses, architecture analysis, and future-state planning. \n
- Experience developing architecture artifacts such as system/context diagrams, logical and physical architecture diagrams, capability models, dependency maps, interface diagrams, reference architectures, or technology roadmaps. \n
- Experience identifying and analyzing technical dependencies, integration points, constraints, risks, and interoperability requirements. \n
- Experience supporting technology modernization, consolidation, migration, transformation, or enterprise integration initiatives. \n
- Ability to evaluate technical alternatives and translate analysis into clear, actionable recommendations. \n
- Understanding of enterprise architecture concepts, frameworks, and methodologies; experience with TOGAF, Federal Enterprise Architecture Framework (FEAF), or similar approaches is beneficial. \n
- Familiarity with cybersecurity architecture and Federal security concepts, including NIST frameworks, Zero Trust principles, and security-by-design. \n
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work through complex technical and organizational issues. \n
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. \n
- Ability to work effectively with technical SMEs, architects, engineers, project managers, executives, and business stakeholders. \n
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a multidisciplinary consulting team. \n
- U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust. \n
Nice To Have :
\n- \n
- Experience supporting NIH, HHS, or another Federal agency. \n
- Experience with large-scale IT centralization, consolidation, modernization, or organizational transformation initiatives. \n
- Experience working within a complex, federated enterprise consisting of multiple semi-autonomous organizations or business units. \n
- Experience with Endpoint, Network, and/or Security Services, particularly enterprise consolidation or modernization. \n
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform. \n
- Experience with hybrid cloud, multi-cloud, data center modernization, or infrastructure migration. \n
- Familiarity with ServiceNow, CMDBs, ITSM, enterprise service catalogs, or configuration management. \n
- Experience with architecture modeling tools such as Abacus, Archi, Bizzdesign, or Sparx. \n
- Familiarity with ArchiMate, UML, BPMN, or other architecture/modeling notations. \n
- Experience supporting technical governance, architecture review boards, standards development, or technology portfolio management. \n
- Relevant certifications such as TOGAF, AWS, Azure, OCI, CISSP, Security+, ITIL, or equivalent. \n
- Consulting experience supporting complex Federal IT programs. \n
Salary:

\nWork Location
\nHybrid – 2 days/week onsite at client location in the Bethesda, Maryland area, with remote work as permitted by the client and program requirements.
