Daily tasks will focus on food preparation, setup, and the operation of a station at one of our various food outlets, according to leadership's specifications. The Cook position supports SpaceX's success by providing quality food options that boost morale and productivity.RESPONSIBILITIES:Complete daily prep tasksEnsure consistency and compliance with the restaurant's recipes regarding portioning, cooking, and waste control guidelinesProvide courteous and informative customer service in an "open kitchen" formatFollow restaurant guidelines concerning guest services, food and physical safety, maintenance, and equipment/space cleaning requirements at all timesMaintain a clean and safe workstationPOSITION DETAILS:This is a temporary position with SpaceX, for the length of time as stated, and is subject to change with minimal notice as business needs dictate.LENGTH OF POSITION: 3 months (permanent hire conversion based on performance and business need)LOCATION: Brownsville, TXBASIC QUALIFICATIONS:2+ years of experience in the food service industryPREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:Restaurant experienceHigh volume experienceExperience with a daily changing menuPossession of or willingness to obtain a food handlers card or equivalentHigh level of professionalismStrong communication skills, both written and verbalADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:Ability to work all shifts and available for overtime and weekends, as neededStand: Up to 10 hours per daySit: Up to 3 hours per dayPush/Pull: Up to 50lbs. (unassisted) 2 hours or longer per dayOverhead reach: Up to 1 hour per dayWalk: Up to 3 hours per dayLift/Carry: Up to 25lbs. (unassisted) 2 hours or longer per dayClimb (ladder/stairs): Up to 1 hour per dayKneel/Crouch: Up to 6 hours per dayUpper body twist: Up to 1 hour per dayAbility to work in temperatures over 80 degrees up to 1 hour per dayCandidate must be capable of safely performing the physical requirements of the job listed in the job description.
