Job Title: LVN / LPN Profession: Nursing Specialty: Behavioral Health Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day 5x8-Hour; Night 5x8-Hour Hours per Shift: 8 hours Experience: Minimum of 1 year in inpatient psychiatric care preferred License: CA LVN License Certifications: BLS, CPI or ProAct or PMAB Must-Have: Recent inpatient psychiatric experience Must-Have: Patient diagnoses experience with ADHD, Bipolar Disorder, Autism Spectrum, Eating Disorder, PTSD, Anxiety Disorder, Depression, Major Depressive Disorder, Psychotic Disorder, and Oppositional Defiant Disorder Description: Local behavioral health positions differ. No requests for time off accepted. Variable shifts include 07:00-15:30, 15:00-23:30, and 23:00-07:30. Required certifications include BLS, CPI or ProAct or PMAB. Candidates must provide a valid state nursing license with recent psychiatric care experience. The adult patient population may include substance abuse disorders and stable admissions. Responsibilities will include the use of electronic patient rounding and documentation. Special equipment may be utilized for patient monitoring. Candidates should demonstrate proficiency in managing patient health and performing various clinical skills. Daily census expectations can vary based on unit needs. Interdisciplinary support includes phlebotomy, social services, pharmacy, and transportation. The facility accommodates adolescent, adult, and pediatric patients. Candidates must be prepared to care for patients with various psychiatric diagnoses and complex needs. A strong understanding of behavior management techniques is essential. Experience with crisis intervention is preferred. Candidates must possess excellent communication skills for reporting changes to the healthcare team. The position requires skills in medication administration, patient education, and support. Proper documentation and charting skills are necessary, ideally utilizing specified systems.
